FAMILY HISTORY FAN CHART
ACTIVITY NIGHT

Thursday, March 10th

Come create your own family history fan chart
These fan charts are beautiful on your wall and are all about you and your ancestors.
You will need to have your family names and details all prepared; do you want to fill in just names or also include a birth date and place of each individual? You can fill out your PEDIGREE CHART and bring it to the activity with you.
Please also bring your own PEN for filling in the chart, an acid free "scrapbooking pen" is around $3 at Roberts or Micheal's... I would choose a  black fine point pen, as the spaces get pretty small around the outer edges of the chart. We will have a couple pens available for those of you that don't have one. We will share quick instruction & tips on how best to fill in your chart, and then we will get to work!
Also that night we will have FHE PACKETS centered around Family History for you to take home with you including some 8x10 family trees for the kids to fill out.

ORDER YOUR FAN CHART FOR THAT NIGHT
We have tried to give you several options and price ranges to choose from, please view the options below and choose which chart works best for you.
To order your chart leave a comment below this post or sign up at church. We will have the charts for you at the activity. Depending on quantity ordered the prices may be cheaper so after Feb 16th we will contact you for payment.

REQUEST COPIES OF
PATRIARCHAL BLESSING

One great new feature is the ability to request your personal Patriarchal Blessing—or one of your ancestors’—online. I discovered this great feature recently and decided to give it a try.

I didn’t need a new copy of my blessing, but have been curious about my Great-Grandfather Washburn. He died when my Grandpa was only a boy, and I’ve heard little of him. In order to request a Patriarchal Blessing, all you need to do is visit new.LDS.org (soon to replace the main site at lds.org), then follow these steps:
  1. Login using your LDS account
  2. Click the “Tools” menu, then select “Patriarchal Blessing” at the bottom
  3. Fill out the form (starting with whether its your own, or someone else’s)
  4. Check the agreement at the bottom and select “submit”
  5. Wait a week or two until the blessing arrives via snail-mail
My Great-Grandfather’s blessing arrived within 2 weeks in the mail. It looks like a print from microfilm. These are not digitized records, so somebody is pulling the requested blessing by hand, printing, and mailing it to you. So if you use this service, and ever meet up with a missionary that works in the records department, make sure you thank them for their service.
